I’m a writer, poet, butoh researcher and experimental artist.

Ethics and childhood, animism, learning and creativity through art and philosophy are the subjects that drive me the most as an individual and a professional and have been the base of my studies in the past years.

This website contains a collection of my illustration and storyboard productions.

I graduated in comics at Fábrica de Quadrinhos and in Illustration at Quanta Academia de Artes (both located in São Paulo, Brazil) between the years of 1997 and 2000. Since then, I’ve been working with comics, graphic novels, book illustrations, storyboards for TV commercials and films and writing and illustrating books for children.

I started my career in 1999 scratching storyboards for video clips and TV commercials together with the filmmaker Caco Milano.

In the last 20 years, I’ve been working with illustration for the national and international publishing market, including companies such as Abril (a major Brazilian publisher and printing company and one of the biggest media holdings in Latin America), Papéis Selvagens (local publisher from Rio de Janeiro), ZUPI magazine, Vida Simples, as well as expressive fashion brands such as Hering and Dzarm.

For several times I had my artwork published in ZUPI and +Soma Magazines.

I also illustrated one of André Dahmer’s poetry books, Obliterar, a project from A Gentil Carioca, an art gallery from Rio de Janeiro (André is one of the greatest Brazilian cartoonists), as well as the poetry book Encarna of Berimba de Jesus.

I also have a partnership with Papeis Selvagens Publishers. Until now we developed three book covers together, and a bookmark which I illustrated and did the entire production, from sketch to final product with my own independent label, Tsantsa.

In the film industry, I made storyboards and shooting boards for the feature film Reza a Lenda, from Homero Olivetto (Paramount Pictures and Globo Films, 2016).

In 2019, I published Rio de Lágrimas, a Graphic Novel, in watercolor, published by Red Clown (São Paulo). I also worked for the series Memórias, producing four comics in the memory of the victims from police and militia violence in Rio de Janeiro, sponsored by Observatório de Favelas.

In 2022, I worked on the production of seven maps to tell the story of colonization, slavory and racial issues in Brazil for the play 7 PISOS, from the Theater Group Folias D’arte, São Paulo. This project included not only the illustration itself - that combined different art techniques - but also all the research to raise accurate data of this social event that constitutes the roots of Latin America's biggest issues.

I currently live in between Rio de Janeiro and Itaporanga, a small village in the south of Bahia, where I have my studio.
